Apologies

I must apologise for not writing, or rather blogging, lately. In fact, my writing has taken a back seat. The reason for this? One word - Christmas. It seems the mere mention of that C word not only zaps me of festive cheer but also of sex (writing that is, not having it!) I blame all those TV adverts.
And then of course today was Adam's first birthday. I can't believe this time last year both myself and Adam were at Death's Door. Thankfully, we both pulled through, although my health is not at its best.
But enough doom and gloom and lack of festive cheer, it's time to get back into the saddle and write some hot hot sex. Body Rocks is coming (no pun intended) along nicely. I am about 3/4 way through, and really pleased that the minimum word count for print is 35,000. Personally I like to write at least 50,000, but unless something strikes me in a moment of inspiration, Body Rocks will be right on that minimum amount.

Animal Instincts

YES! YES! YES! Today I received the acceptance e-mail from Siren for Animal Instincts, the 2nd book in the Anderson series. Whoopie! Happy dance!

I have been on tenderhooks for the last 4 weeks regarding Animal Instincts. The pessimist in me thought this will be a rejection. I'm so glad I've been proved wrong. I don't know whether the follow up e-mail I sent to Siren earlier this evening had anything to do with it, but 3 hours at the most later and I get an early Christmas present.

So Animal Instincts will be published sometime in March 2012. What is Mills & Boon's loss is Siren's gain.

And now back to writing the third in the series. Oh dear! I'm having so many problems with Body Rocks. Hmm, maybe it's time for some Def Leppard!

Secret Eyes

I'm so excited. I am actually holding my book Secret Eyes in my hands. I never would have believed after it was rejected by Mills & Boon back in April that by the next month it would be accepted by Siren, released as an e-book on 25th August and then in print in November. A dream come true.

Together Forever

It's the release day for Together Forever!! I also received an e-mail from Amazon informing me I should be able to hold the paperback version of Secret Eyes by Friday!!!! Such excitement. Can't believe this time last year it was snowing, I was heavily pregnant with 4 weeks still to go, waddling like a duck and wondering whether I would be published in the new year. I guess dreams can come true.

Body Rocks

Oh dear. That mental block I had some weeks ago has returned! It's not just that the book will be extremely short of the 50,000 word target I aim for, but I just can't get into 'virgin' mode. Sextreme is the heat rating, which is okay for Daniel's (the hero) POV, but not for Samantha's (the heroine) who doesn't like to use explicit words for body parts etc. Oh dear. Serious thinking cap on... but first... The Vampire Diaries and then Haven!

Animal Instincts

Tonight I submitted Animal Instincts to Siren. Must admit to being a little nervous, but have fingers and toes crossed.

Dancing like a loon

Yep, I'm dancing like a loon. Received the news yesterday that I've been waiting for since Siren accepted Secret Eyes for publication back in May. I will be able to actually hold my book in my hands in 4-6 weeks' time. So just in time for Christmas.
I want to say a massive thank you for the support given to me by my family and friends. I only wish my dad was here now to share this moment.

A shock but a happy shock

On Saturday it came to my attention when I looked on the Siren website that I had totally misread their calendar. Together Forever's release date is 29th NOVEMBER and not December!!!! I think I need new glasses. There I was thinking I had loads of time for further edits then BAM! Oh well, at least my friends aren't gonna be lost for a Xmas present this year for their partners!

Body Rocks

The second in the Anderson series - Animal Instincts - is finished! I've just got to think of a good synopsis (I hate those things!) and then send it to Siren. Fingers crossed it will be accepted.
The third in the series, Body Rocks, is coming along nicely. I seemed to have lost the mental block. Yay! The only problem I might have is I don't think it will even hit the 46,000 word mark.

Am dancing around the living room because I have just received my first royalty payment! Here's to quite a few more.

Animal Instincts

Since those brutal edits for Together Forever, I thought it to be a very good idea to read the second in the Anderson series again - Animal Instincts.  So glad I did because I can see areas where I can improve and rewrite before I send it off to Siren.  Fingers crossed they'll accept it.  If they don't, then what was the bloody point in accepting the first?!

Yay finished!

I have finished the edits for Together Forever.  Even had time to completely rewrite Chapter 2!  I'm going to go through them one last time tomorrow night and then e-mail them to Siren. Fingers crossed they'll like and agree with what I've done. If not, then I'm gonna turn the air blue and then cry.

Contract for Together Forever received

Have received my contract for Together Forever.  Ya-hoo!

Together Forever edits received

Have received the edits for Together Forever.  And as Capt Oakes said "I may be gone for some time."

The First Review!

Yay, am doing a happy, happy dance.  Today Secret Eyes received its first review!!!  And a good one at that!  Thank you, a million thank yous for whoever wrote it.

Waiting for the horde of angry readers...

Today at the very last minute (5pm) I entered the Mills & Boon New Voices competition with my entry 'Undercover Desires'.  Even though I posted a comment that I did not enter to win, it was just for feedback, I await the horde of angry readers and other entrants.  Oh dear, why did I do it?  Had my common sense left the building?  Yes, I think it had.  Oh well, can't do anything about it now.

Is that light I see?

For quite a few weeks now, I've been battling a Titanic-sized mental block with the third book of the Anderson series - Body Rocks.  But is that light I can see at the end of the tunnel?  I bloody well hope so!

A day wasted!

Yesterday was a full day's writing time wasted because I had my head stuck down the toilet for most of it.  I never want to see a Terry's Chocolate Orange again!  Well, maybe in a few weeks' time!

Release date for Together Forever

Have just looked on the calendar at Sirenbookstrand and the release date for my second book 'Together Forever' is 29th December.  Not in time for a Christmas pressie but perhaps Valentine's?

First Book

I have just read my first book on my Kindle.  It was my own!  Excellent, if I do say so myself!

It's arrived!

My Kindle has arrived!  Took me almost 3 hours to work out how to connect the damned thing to wi-fi.  Well, how was I supposed to know that 'wireless key' and 'password' are one and the same thing?

My blasted computer is bloody slow today.  Perhaps I should feed the hamster inside! But on a brighter note, I received my cover questionnaire for 'Together Forever' yesterday.  Thinking cap on, I have to write 3 blurbs.

Second book accepted

Break out the chocolate!  'Together Forever' has been accepted for publication by Siren Bookstrand.  So excited!!!
