Lust in the First Degree

Lust in the First Degree was submitted to Siren last night. Fingers crossed.

My next project is a book called Undercover Desires. I haven't looked at this book for about a year. I've already done 26000 plus words before I went and typed the Andersons series. When I looked at it last night, what I'd written made me laugh and cry. Laugh because some of the dialogue is laugh out loud in a good way. Cried because I had to go through all 111 pages and delete a space after each full stop. You see when I worked for the police typing statements etc, I was told to always put 2 spaces after a full stop. So for 18 years I did this. It was so instilled in my brain that I did it at home with letters etc. I also did it for  my first book to be published - Secret Eyes. When I got the edits back, I noticed only one space after a full stop, the other one my editor had deleted. Therefore from then on I adopted the one space after a full stop approach. I've done it for all my books apart from Undercover Desires. But then again, like I said, I hadn't looked at it for about a year. At the end of the 111 pages my hands were hurting from deleting all those spaces! But it's done now and I can now read through what I've written, edit if need be, and then carry on finishing it.

After Undercover Desires, my next books to be written are Addiction and Edge of Heaven. I don't know which one to write first, though. Then I want to write another series called Sins of Silver Creek. The first book is already half written. I have two more books planned for the series, and then I'll see how it goes. Sometimes it's not easy thinking of story lines that are original and different from what I've already written. I have ideas for two other series, too, but at this point in time, I have just the titles and not much else.

Have fallen victim to internet scam

Yep, folks, I should have known better but the email from Amazon looked so convincing. Alarm bells did ring when I typed in my password and instead of seeing dots, I actually saw my password. Suffice to say I didn't include that. Did include my bank card number though. Stupid stupid. Have cancelled my bank cards and am waiting for the new one. I also opened a new account just in case! At the minute though, no fraudulent transctions have been made.
The scam did leave a nasty trojan and virus that myself and the good people at BT IT helpdesk had sorted out. Until that is, I tried to access my Amazon account to check an order. This time my whole internet connection was lost. I think somehow it deleted the wireless signal or something. I'm useless at computers so that's only guesswork. At the moment my laptop is in the hands of Paynes Computers. Those guys are the best. They are confident my laptop will be its old self come Sunday. God I hope so. I never realised how much I relied on my computer until I lost it. Now Richard has to go to Tesco in person to do our weekly shop! Something we haven't done since Alice was 2 months old. She's now nearly 7!
I need my laptop because my latest book Lust in the First Degree is now complete, just a few bits of polishing, but it's ready to be submitted to Siren. It's the fourth and final book of the Andersons series and is the hottest thing I have ever written.
Well, I'd better sign off now. I'm using a library computer and my time is almost up. Thank God for libraries! As Arnie said "I'll be back."

Body Rocks

On Thursday last week (28th June), I received the final edits for Body Rocks. And today (2nd July) I sent them back. The release date now is 11th July, which was unexpected, as it was originally the18th. The cover looks absolutely fantastic! Very hot. I would add it to this blog, but those who know me, know I'm useless with computers. Anyway, you can still see it on my Facebook page. It's my new profile picture.

And now it's back to Lust in the First Degree. I had hoped to submit it either before or slightly after the release of Body Rocks. However, I still have a way to go. I'm now looking at August to submit.

Body Rocks

Gosh, two blogs in one week??!! It's like waiting for a bus, you queue for ages and nothing arrives and then all of a sudden two come along at once!

Anyway, last night (7th June) while I was on eBay (I really must limit myself on that site, it's too tempting by far) I received the edits for Body Rocks. Apart from putting my thinking cap for one area, and its not really major, just clarifying the families history, there is not a lot to do. I received some nice comments about the humour, pacing, the good descriptions of characters and locations, and how the story draws the reader in. To say I'm pleased is an understatement.

The one area I did have concerns over is the heat level. All of my books so far have been 'sextreme', but I thought I would have problems with this one because Samantha, our heroine, is a virgin and it's not in her nature to use coarse words for body parts. Our hero, Daniel, on the other hand, is not one to pussy foot around with language. Because some of the sex scenes are from Samantha's POV, I didn't want to overload in his POV with his own sex scenes to compensate (if that makes sense). And it's seems I didn't because my editor has rated this as 'sextreme'. Yay!!

Hopefully, I will have the edits completed over the weekend, but I have until the 28th June, so I might take my time and get it right. I'm so thankful that my editor pointed out the parts that needed clarifying. I'd already written the ending for the fourth and final book (Lust in the First Degree), but now I know I need to edit and add stuff so it all ties up nice with a big blue bow. Why blue? Well, not only is it my favourite colour, but it's blue for erotic. Cliched I know, but there you go.

Whatever you're reading now, enjoy.

Body Rocks

Yesterday (4th June) I received the contract for Body Rocks. And tonight I returned it! Tentative release date at this time is 18th July.

Progress report on Lust in the First Degree - it stands at just over 28k. Another 20k and I'll be ready to submit. I'm working hard on it and hopefully will submit to Siren sometime in July. Hopefully before Body Rocks is released! I'm having a blast writing it. Matt is so cynical when it comes to romance and love, but, and just like his sister, Ramona, in "Animal Instincts" when the right man- or in Matt's case, woman- comes along, you're blown away. Darcy is the perfect soul mate for Matt. Well, if a volcanologist can't tame a bad-ass cop with a volcanic temper, I don't know who else can!

One final note - I definitely don't like this new look blogger page. Just got used to the old one and then they changed it! And for those who follow me, I do follow you too, but it always says I'm not following anybody's blogs!

Lust in the First Degree

Lust in the First Degree, the 4th and final book of the Andersons series, is going rather well. Am writing about 500 words a night, which I know isn't a lot, but it's better than nothing! At the moment it stands at almost 23k, but 13k of that is what I'd already written in notes etc. It all needs sorting out as the POV is all over the place.

After finishing this book, I'll be taking a break for a while to get my head into gear and then I will start writing "Addiction". David, a good friend of mine, is going to be teaching me karate. Well, not physically but virtually as in chatting on Facebook! Maybe even meeting me for coffee. Either way it should be good. I might even base the hero's character of Addiction - Anakin Howard - on David. My way of saying thank you and will probably dedicate the book to him. Some of you might know Anakin from "Secret Eyes", he's the brother of Leia, who made an appearance in the book and at the very end in the epilogue. In fact, that epilogue is going to be the prologue for Addiction.

After Addiction, I plan on writing a new series called "Sins of Silver Creek". Silver Creek is the fictional town in Montana that I created when I first started writing way back in 2007. It's the home of the Andersons. And the very first book I ever wrote but with a major tweek with the characters, it will be the first in the Sins of Silver Creek series. It's also going to be a menage, a first for me.

At the same time though, another book is shouting to be written for another good friend of mine - Mark. Decisions, decisions. What shall I write first and where will I find the time? Mmm, methinks a chocolate bar is needed to help. Don't know how, but it sure will taste good!

Body Rocks

After a tiring day helping out at the Titanic Exhibition, I come home to check my emails and find out that Siren has accepted to publish Body Rocks (The Andersons 3). Weeeeeee, happy dance. And I'd best get cracking on with Lust in the First Degree (The Andersons 4)!!!!!
